Terry Kroetsch was a prominent figure in the Laurier Academy of Music and Arts as well as the Faculty of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University. Both of these institutions are in mourning over the loss of this cherished member of the university’s community.
It was in 1981 when Terry received his Bachelor of Music degree from the university, which is when his affiliation to the institution began. Additionally, Terry’s joy, humour, and camaraderie contributed to the development of a lively and unforgettable community within the Faculty of Music. Terry’s talent as an educator was supplemented by these qualities. Those who had the good fortune to have spent time in his company will always remember his well-crafted puns and pranks, as well as his true friendship. These memories will remain carved in their minds forever.
Terry, who was a soloist and a founding member of the New Art Quartet, was instrumental in the process of commissioning works by Canadian composers. As a result, he made a substantial contribution to the musical tapestry of the country.
