Linda Kromer Obituary, Linda Kromer Has Passed Away – Death

After a long and courageous fight against Alzheimer’s disease, Linda L. (Bauer) Kromer, 84 years old, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away in a calm and serene manner early on Monday afternoon, January 8, 2024, at her residence.

William and Edith (Jeffrey) Bauer welcomed their daughter into the world on March 5, 1939, in the city of Sandusky, Ohio. She obtained her teacher’s certificate from St. John’s College in 1960 after graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1957. She went on to become a teacher.

Following her graduation from college, Linda worked as a teacher for a brief period of time at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Sandusky. Subsequently, she became a teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan Schools.

It was in 1961 when she tied the knot with Paul A. Kromer, and shortly thereafter, the couple took over the family property, where they brought up their seven children. For the past three decades, they had a joyful marriage. After that, Linda went back to work at St. Mary’s School, where she remained employed for close to twenty years before finally retiring.

The members of her huge family were the most important people in her life, and she treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to being a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Linda was also a member of the school board and served on the Parish Council. She was also a member of the Erie County Farm Bureau and served as its president in the past.

She is survived by her family, Matt (Heather) Kromer of Sandusky, Amy (Boo) Sevier of Denver, CO, Beth (David) Gassman of Avon, OH, Paula Orzech of Sandusky, Bill (Laura) Kromer of Huron, OH, Mark (Christine) Kromer of Castalia, OH and Sara (Doug) Solet of Elyria, OH; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Sharon Frey of Aiken, SC and Mary Beth (Wayne) Roth of Ft. Myers, FL; sisters-in-law, Mary (Kromer) Icsman, and Judy (Kreidler) Kromer Cattano both of Sandusky; brothers-in-law, Aaron Kromer of Sandusky and Phillip Kromer of Warren, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
