Delcina’s journey, which began in the early 1980s at Truro Junior High School, was characterized by unwavering strength, compassion, and an indomitable spirit.

Devoted to her beloved husband, Paul, and a natural mother to their two daughters, Raydell and Savannah, Delcina embodied the true essence of love and care. Her commitment to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, setting an inspiring example for those fortunate enough to know her. Delcina’s strength was a guiding light in the face of challenges, and she approached every obstacle with resilience and determination.

Her voice was a powerful tool for advocating against injustices and inaccuracies, reflecting a no-nonsense attitude that became synonymous with her character. Bonded with friends like Del, Shirley Robinson, Bev Gero, and Cindy Bernard during our days at Truro Junior High School, Delcina quickly became a cherished friend, leaving an indelible mark on our lives.

Later, as we crossed paths at CEC, it was no surprise to find Delcina in a role where she could make a meaningful impact. Her influence extended far beyond her immediate circle, as she played a pivotal role in supporting, advising, and guiding anyone in need. Nieces and nephews fondly recounted stories of her unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in their lives.

As a pillar at CEC, Delcina’s dedication to students was unparalleled. She ensured that every student received the support they needed, offering hope to those on the verge of giving up. Delcina’s legacy is marked by the creation of a safe haven for students of all backgrounds, including an LGBTQ2S+ positive space. Discrimination, bullying, or denial of education found no refuge in her watchful gaze.
