Barrie John Kennedy, who was 80 years old at the time of his death, passed away on November 24, 2021, after a long and courageous fight against Parkinson’s disease.
Rita, his devoted wife of 55 years, and his two sons, Bradley Kennedy of Wimberley, Texas, and Andrew Kennedy of Holliston, Massachusetts, were all within his immediate vicinity at the time of his passing.
Barrie came into the world on July 30, 1941, in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. His parents, Andrew Kennedy and Yvonne Primeau Kennedy, were his parents. He was raised with his older sister Elizabeth and his younger brother Ronnie. Throughout his entire life, he stayed loyal to the Catholic faith and in particular served as an altar boy.
Carleton University, located in Ottawa, Ontario, was the institution where he received his education. He placed a high value on the impact that intellectual endeavours had, and he continued to push his mind to its limits while also pushing his children to do the same.
As a result of their meeting in Cornwall, Barrie and Rita tied the knot on January 29, 1966. It was in 1969 when they made the move to Malone, New York, in order to begin their careers in the medical field.
In addition, they were blessed with two sons, Andrew and Bradley, who continue to be a source of pride for their parents. Bringing joy and entertainment to friends and family with their stories, Barrie enjoyed spending time at the Elk’s Club and with his close buddy Bill LeRoy. He also enjoyed spending time spending time with his family.
After working in the sector for more than three decades, Barrie retired at the age of 62 after having served professionally as the laboratory manager at Alice Hyde Medical Centre. The people who worked with him held him in high regard, and he never wavered in his dedication to his role.
