Born on February 24, 1947, in Perry County, Indiana, Bobby, as he was affectionately known, was the son of the late Robert Ray Richey and Betty (Helm) Richey. Bobby’s life was marked by service and dedication.

He served his country in the United States Navy during the tumultuous period of the Vietnam War, embodying a sense of duty and patriotism that he carried throughout his life. His commitment as a proud veteran was an integral part of his identity.

After his military service, Bobby embarked on a remarkable 38-year career with National Southwire Aluminum, which later transitioned into Century Aluminum of Hawesville, Kentucky.
