John Marcum Obituary, John Marcum Has Passed Away – Death

To the late John F. and Susie (nee: Alman) Marcum, Sr., John was born on November 1, 1942 in Hamilton, Ohio. His parents have now passed away. In Monroe, Michigan, he tied the knot with the previously known Winifred Haveraneck.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Winifred Marcum; loving father, of three children, John (Tanya) Marcum, Christine (Frank) Agostini and Scott M. (Naomi) Marcum; seven grandchildren.

Matthew (Brianne) Marcum, Lauren (Michael) Theusch, Nicolas Agostini, Paige Agostini, Wyatt Marcum, Tegan Marcum and Emmett Marcum; three great grandchildren, Winifred, Sebastian and Emmett; sister-in-law, Dianne Marcum; he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Taite and his brother, David Marcum.

In 1965, John participated in the Rose Bowl while playing right guard for the University of Michigan football team. John graduated from the University of Michigan and played for the team.

It was as a nationwide manager for General Motors’ Warehouse Division that he retired from his position. He was passionate about photography, woodworking, and hunting. First and foremost, he maintained an unwavering dedication to his family. On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at twelve o’clock noon, the funeral service will take place at the Village Funeral Home, which is located at 135 South Street in Ortonville.

Pastor Sean Barton will preside over the ceremony. On Wednesday until the time of the service, the family will be there to greet friends beginning at eleven o’clock. There is the opportunity to make memorial gifts to the Salvation Army.
