There was a phone call from my kid when I returned home from fishing yesterday. He inquired as to whether or not it was accurate. I informed him that I was unaware of the fact that I had not heard anything of the kind and that there was just no way, but that I would find out and then call him about it. As a matter of fact, it didn’t take me more than a few seconds to figure out the worst. Gerrard Flores, a friend of ours, passed away. When it comes to this individual, I just do not have enough words.
He was not to be taken seriously. Not only was he a fantastic man, but he was also a brilliant referee, a parent, and he was engaged to a wonderful woman. The state of the world is not quite as favourable as it was the day before. Gerard was such a joyful person; he never failed to exhibit a smile and was always thrilled to see you. He never failed to inquire about my wife and my son Stephen at any point in time.
If you ever attended one of the matches that I coached, you would know that I was not always the easiest person to deal with by the officials. I treated Gerard with the highest respect and had complete faith in him. One of my favourite things that he did was to always inquire about the whereabouts of the wrestlers’ parents in the stands in front of them. Then, when he attempted to raise their hand, he would make sure that he was facing them straight. The fact that he genuinely enjoyed what he did was evident.
In every instance in which we had him, I was aware that everything was going to proceed smoothly and fairly. On the off chance that you were a referee and were invited to our son’s wedding, you are aware that you have my respect and appreciation.
On the other hand, we only communicated with one another when we happened to run into one other or when we were on Facebook. He will be much missed by me in the future. Everyone in the planet is going to miss him. While I am a Christian, I do not claim to have any understanding of the reasons why atrocities like these occur.
When the time comes, we will have all of the answers. For the time being, I am only aware that this planet could need a great deal more Gerard Flores than it does less. “Gerard” You have my love and respect, and I can’t wait to have the opportunity to sit down with you once more in paradise. Don’t worry, my good friend.
