Lasseigne, who was 84 years old when he died away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at his residence, will be honoured with a Mass of Christian Burial scheduled to take place at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at eleven o’clock in the morning.
At Dion Hall, there will be a visitation on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and it will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am. Both of these events will take place on Wednesday.
At seven o’clock on Wednesday evening, Deacon Russell Hayes will pray the rosary before the congregation. During the Funeral Mass, Father Bill Melancon will preside over the ceremony. Subsequently, the burial will take place at the Our Lady of Prompt Succour Cemetery located in Coteau. Clenis spent more than three decades working in the oilfield before taking his retirement in the year 2004.
Football and western films were two of his favourite things to watch. Clenis cherished the time he got to spend with his family; his grandchildren were the source of his inspiration and offered him a great deal of happiness. It was possible to catch him swinging outside and listening to French music on Sundays.
Clenis was a gentleman who was genuinely a “one-of-a-kind” individual. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandpa, great grandfather, and brother, and he will be deeply missed by all of these people.
His wife of 59 years, Barbara Chataignier Lasseigne, his daughters Wendy Barras (Terry) and Lori Miller, his son Lonnie Lasseigne (Fran), his brother Rouly Lasseigne (Laura), his grandchildren Tyson Barras, Alana Miller, Kailin Lasseigne (Dorsey “DJ”), Savana Capritto (Silas), and Triston Barras, and his great-grandchildren Karson and Ambri Barras and Eli Capritto are among those who inherit his legacy.
