Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital was the location where Mary Anne Opalacz Shedrick, who was 69 years old and lived at 432 Atlas Drive in Randleman, passed away on January 1, 2013. Her parents, Frank and Dorothy (Archambault) Opalacz, welcomed their daughter Mary Anne into the world on May 6, 1943 in Hartford, Connecticut.
Travelling and camping were two of her favourite activities, and she had retired from Aetna Life and Casualty of Hartford.
Dorothy Dzikot, Mary Anne’s sister, passed away before her. Her parents were also among those who came before her in death. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard Shedrick; daughter, Cathy Wood and her husband Alford of Randleman; son, David Shedrick and his wife Bernice of Chicopee, MA; grandchildren, Danny Yagmin and his wife Candice of Randleman, Brian Yagmin and his wife Kaitlin of Randleman, Kyle Shedrick of Chicopee, MA; great grandchildren,
Lucas Hedgecock of Randleman and Brantley Yagmin due in February; sisters, Barbara Bancroft of East Windsor, CT, Carol Kirk of East Windsor, CT, Joan Czysz and Bob of Conway, SC, Bette Hanson and her husband Mark of Manchester, CT; brother, Ronnie Opalacz and his wife Raelene of East Windsor, CT; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, located at 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro, will be the location of a memorial service that will take place on Friday, January 4, 2013, at 2:00 pm. Father Philip Kollithanath will preside over the ceremony. Following the memorial ceremony, the family will have a reception at Mrs. Shedrick’s residence for friends and relatives.
