In Anderson, Joseph Allen Davis, who was 83 years old at the time of his death on October 22nd, 2023, went to be with the Lord, leaving a hole in the hearts of many people who loved and cared for him. His parents, Joseph Davis and Elizabeth Davis, both passed away before Joe was born on June 19, 1940. Joe received his high school diploma from Gaston in the year 1958.
He worked for General Motors for 38 years before retiring to pursue his interests in fishing and camping with his large and loving family and close friends. He retired to enjoy his passions in the company of his family and friends. Over the course of several years, he and his family were regulars at the Prairie Grove Church in Gaston. The life of Joe was characterised by an unbounded altruism that was unrestricted.
He was able to raise six grandchildren, which is evidence of his unshakable dedication to his beloved family. Little David, who was born in 1988 with special needs, was one of the members of this group. Joe provided him with loving care for the 27 years of his life that he took for granted. During his senior years, Joe took his daughter Sheri and his best friend Kenny Bennett on fishing trips and holidays that he will never forget the time they spent together.
He lived in Sugar Fork for a period of four years, and during the last three months of his life, he discovered solace in the protective embrace of his daughter Sheri’s residential space.
The time he spent outside was something he treasured, and he and his loving girlfriend, Sheila, went on many pleasant journeys on his scooter together.
Prior to Joseph’s passing, his first wife, Priscilla Lynn Parks, who had been married to him in 1960, passed away. and Dorothy Davis, who was his second wife and whom he had married on December 5th, 1969 He also said his goodbyes to his children, Lori Jane Davis and Butch Garringer (Connie), as well as his grandsons, Randy Hall and Little David Davis; his sister-in-law, Sheryn; and his son-in-law, Ted Dodge. He also said farewell to his grandchildren.
