Robin Thompson Obituary, Amsterdam NYS, Robin Thompson Death Tribute

At her home on November 23, 2023, Robin Lynn Thompson, 59, of Mandan, died. At a later time, there will be a memorial service. Gerald and Karen (Bellin) Thompson’s daughter Robin was born in Moorhead, Minnesota on January 4, 1964. She spent her childhood on the farm just north of Wyndmere, North Dakota.

Grace Lutheran Church was her spiritual home, and she loved every moment there. She was a student at Wyndmere Public School until she spent her senior year studying abroad in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1982.

After studying English literature and politics at Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1987. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from Minnesota Law School in 1991. Before relocating to Harvey, North Dakota, she worked for a law company there, specialising in product liability. Robin was a zoning, real estate and oil and gas law specialist who also had a private business for many years until her death.

She served as states attorney of McHenry County from 1999 to 2010, in addition to her political career. Among her many board memberships are those of the North Dakota States Attorneys and the National District Attorneys Association. In addition to her study, she was proudly granted membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. The French horn and piano were two of Robin’s many musical talents.

She and her family were regulars at a little country church, where she played the organ. She loved to travel to other locations and devoured books.

Dogs, cats, and even a bunny were among her many pets because of her deep affection for them. In 2011, she was named by the Animal Legal Defence Fund as one of the top 10 animal advocates in the United States. After enduring a terrible run of health issues over the last many years, Robin has finally found relief.
