At 8:20 am, on January 1, reports were received that a vehicle had rolled in the southbound lanes of Appin Road, Maddens Plains.
Tragically, the male driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries before emergency services personnel could reach the scene of the accident. Upon arrival, officers from Wollongong Police District established a crime scene.
