Gloria Buongiorno Obituary, Learn More About Gloria Buongiorno

In the quiet town of Montville, a remarkable woman, Gloria Marie Buongiorno (nee Renner), transitioned from this world on January 3, 2023, at the age of 91. A devoted homemaker, a beloved grandmother, and a source of love and joy for all who knew her, Gloria’s life was a tapestry woven with threads of warmth, family, and companionship. Gloria’s journey began in Montville, where she would later become an integral part of the community.

Ernesto, Gloria’s late husband, was the love of her life. Their union was a testament to enduring love, and though he preceded her in death, the echoes of their shared laughter and cherished moments reverberate through the memories of their family.

Together, they weathered the storms of life, creating a foundation of love and resilience that would become a lasting legacy. Gloria was a nurturing mother to Eileen Gilbert, Roy DeYoung, Christopher DeYoung, and John DeYoung.

Throughout her years, Gloria’s home was filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals and the echoes of shared laughter. As a homemaker, she invested time and care into creating a haven for her family, a place where warmth and love were abundant.

Her kitchen was not just a place to prepare meals but a space where memories were made, stories were shared, and the bonds of family were strengthened. Beyond her role as a homemaker, Gloria found companionship and joy in the company of Robert Pizza. Their connection added a layer of richness to her life, offering shared moments of laughter, support, and the pleasure of each other’s company.

To honor Gloria’s life and legacy, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 6, at 12:00 pm at St. Pius X R.C. Church, Montville. Her love extended beyond her biological children, embracing Ernest and Denise Buongiorno as cherished members of her family.

The richness of her love was mirrored in her role as a grandmother to eight grandchildren, a role that brought immense joy and purpose to her life. Born to the late Ernesto and Marie Renner, she grew up surrounded by the simple joys of life, instilling in her a deep appreciation for family bonds that would remain a guiding force throughout her years.
