Oil City mourns the passing of a beloved community member, Todd K. Reed, 61, who peacefully departed on December 30, 2023. Born on January 26, 1962, in Titusville, Todd leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and a life well-lived. A proud alumnus of Oil City High School and the Venango County Vo-Tech, Todd’s educational journey laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
Following his passion for plumbing, he apprenticed under Joe Streczywilk and later dedicated many years of his life to Union Local 27, showcasing his skills and commitment to his craft. On June 11, 1983, Todd exchanged vows with the love of his life, Melissa J. Toy. Their enduring marriage of four decades stands as a testament to love, companionship, and the strength that family brings. Melissa survives Todd, holding cherished memories close to her heart.
Todd’s zest for life extended beyond his professional pursuits. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace in the simplicity of nature through hunting and fishing. In his youth, he reveled in the joy of running dogs at the beagle club, creating memories that lingered throughout his life. Additionally, Todd was known for his love of literature, spending countless hours as an enthusiastic reader.
Beyond his professional and personal interests, Todd was a devoted family man. He leaves behind two sons, Michael Reed and Matthew Reed, along with their loving spouses, Jennifer and Amy. His joy extended to his three grandchildren, Blake, Abigail, and Luke, who undoubtedly brought immense happiness to his life.
Todd’s presence will be deeply missed by his brother, Tim McClellan, and sister-in-law Tara, along with their children Gavin, Gabriel, and Adah. His extended family includes sisters-in-law Marjorie Dunkle and Michelle Toy, along with nieces Tracey Corbett, Stephanie Corbett, Julie Alessi, and nephew Steve Toy.
A memorial service to celebrate Todd’s life will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Titusville Branch Church, 224 W Spruce St., Titusville. Following the service, Todd will find his resting place in Rynd Farm Cemetery.
Todd K. Reed was preceded in death by his brother Bruce Reed and two brothers-in-law, William Dunkle and Joseph Toy.
