William G. “Bill” Knisley Obituary, The Death Of William G. “Bill” Knisley Leaves Many In Agony

On January 1, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family, William G. “Bill” Knisley peacefully departed this earthly realm at the age of 90, marking the end of a life richly lived and the beginning of his eternal journey. His legacy is one of enduring love, steadfast commitment, and an unwavering devotion to family and community. Bill, in his 91st year, leaves behind a profound imprint on the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. His life was a testament to the values that define the human experience: love, compassion, and selflessness.

Born to William and Reta Knisley, Bill was one of nine children, a testament to the close-knit family bonds that would shape his character. The lessons learned in his formative years laid the foundation for the man he became – a man who cherished the simple joys of life, valued hard work, and held family above all else. Bill’s legacy extends beyond his immediate family to the lives of his three children: Martin (Marsha), David (Karen), and Sharon (Brian). In the role of a devoted father, he imparted wisdom, shared laughter, and provided unwavering support.

The tapestry of Bill’s life is woven with threads of connection, and the ties to his extended family and friends are an integral part of his story. His generosity, kindness, and welcoming spirit endeared him to those he encountered.

Whether gathered around the family table, celebrating milestones, or sharing quiet moments, Bill made everyone feel like a valued member of his extended family. As a tribute to Bill’s life, friends and family will come together for visitation at Drury Funeral Centre, 519 Victoria St. E., Alliston, on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Private interment will follow at the Mansfield Presbyterian Cemetery, providing a peaceful resting place for Bill where the quiet beauty of nature will mirror the tranquility he brought to the lives of those around him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be directed to either the Mansfield Presbyterian Cemetery or Matthews House Hospice.

These chosen charities reflect Bill’s commitment to his community and his appreciation for the sanctity of life. Bill’s journey on this earth has concluded, but the impact he made lives on in the memories, love, and values he shared.
