It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel “Duy” Lloyd, a beloved member of the Greenwich community. At the age of 84, Duy left this world shortly before midnight on Friday evening, December 29, 2023, in the comfort of his home where he had resided for the past two decades. Duy’s legacy is one of warmth, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
As we come together to honor his memory, let us reflect on the remarkable life of a man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. Born into the Lloyd family, Duy’s roots ran deep in the community, and his presence became a cherished thread in the fabric of Greenwich.
He navigated the journey of life with resilience, wisdom, and an ever-present sense of humor. Duy’s 84 years were a tapestry woven with experiences, adventures, and connections that transformed mere existence into a rich and meaningful existence.
In celebrating the life of Duy Lloyd, we extend an invitation to relatives and friends to join us for graveside memorial services at Fernwood Memorial Park, Rt. 49, Shiloh Pike in Hopewell Township. The service will take place on Thursday afternoon, January 4th, at 1 o’clock. Reverend Glendon Osborn, a family cousin, will officiate the ceremony, lending a personal and comforting touch to the proceedings.
Following the graveside service, in accordance with Duy’s wishes, a “Celebration of Life” gathering will take place for all at the Bait Box Restaurant at Hancock’s Harbor, Hancock Harbor Road in Greenwich. Duy’s express desire was for a joyous gathering—a party, as he called it.
