Tommy Tumielewicz Obituary, A Life Dedicated To Service – Death

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our longest-serving active member, Firefighter Tommy Tumielewicz. A pillar of strength in our firefighting community, Tommy peacefully departed from this world last night at his home. His legacy, however, will continue to burn brightly in our memories. Tommy Tumielewicz became an integral part of our department in 1981, marking the beginning of a remarkable 42-year journey of selfless service to the residents of the Town of Rutland. Throughout his illustrious career, he responded to countless calls for service, displaying unwavering dedication, courage, and a sense of duty that inspired us all.

Firefighter Tumielewicz was not just a colleague; he was a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration for everyone in the station. His commitment to the safety and well-being of the community was unparalleled, and his influence resonated far beyond the calls he answered. The impact he had on the department and the lives of those he served is immeasurable. Tommy’s presence at the station was a source of comfort and camaraderie for all. His infectious spirit, sense of humor, and genuine care for others created a positive atmosphere that made the firehouse feel like a second home for many. The void left by his absence will be felt profoundly by each member of our firefighting family.

In recognition of his remarkable service and to honor the memory of this extraordinary firefighter, calling hours have been scheduled for Friday, January 5th, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Aldous Funeral Home in Rutland.

This will provide an opportunity for friends, colleagues, and community members to pay their respects, share memories, and offer support to one another during this difficult time.

As we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Firefighter Tommy Tumielewicz, let us be inspired by the legacy he leaves behind. Let his dedication to service, his courage in the face of adversity, and his compassionate spirit serve as a guiding light for us all. In our grief, let us find strength in the memories we shared, and in the knowledge that Tommy’s impact will forever be etched in the annals of our department’s history.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tommy’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside this exceptional firefighter. May he rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire generations of firefighters to come.
