In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the quiet town of Dover has been shaken by the tragic discovery of a family found dead in their home. Officials have identified the deceased as Rakesh Kamal, 57, Teena Kamal, 54, and their 18-year-old daughter, Arianna Kamal, a student at Middlebury College. The incident is suspected to be a case of domestic violence, with investigators at the preliminary stages of their inquiry.
The chilling discovery unfolded on Thursday night when Dover Police responded to a 911 call just before 7:30 p.m. The call was made by a concerned family member who had become worried after not hearing from the Kamal family for a “day or two.” The family member, living in the vicinity, decided to check on them, leading to the grim discovery of one of the deceased. The police were immediately dispatched to the residence at 8 Wilson’s Way.
Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s office has been leading the investigation, and during a press conference on Friday, Morrissey confirmed the identities of the deceased and provided some initial details.
Rakesh Kamal, Teena Kamal, and their daughter Arianna were found dead inside their sprawling mansion, a 19,000-square-foot estate boasting 11 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms.
The investigation is still in its early stages, and Morrissey emphasized that there is no indication of external involvement. The evidence points toward an incident of “deadly domestic violence,” with no signs of a break-in at the residence. Morrissey’s office did not definitively label the incident as a murder-suicide but disclosed that a gun was discovered at the crime scene, hinting at a potentially tragic outcome.
