It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Sandra Taggart (nee Fisher) on the 21st of December 2023 at her home, 4 Meadowvale, Portrush. She was surrounded by the love of her family as she embarked on her final journey. Sandra was the dearly beloved wife of the late Desmond (Desi), a devoted mother, caring mother-in-law, cherished grandmother, and adored great-grandmother.
Sandra’s legacy of love and warmth will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. She leaves behind a tapestry of beautiful memories that will be treasured by her family and the entire community.
Born into the Fisher family, Sandra grew up surrounded by love and laughter. Her journey in life took a significant turn when she met and married the love of her life, Desmond. Their union was a source of inspiration to many, built on a foundation of love, respect, and shared dreams. Sandra’s unwavering commitment to her family and her enduring love for Desi created a home filled with joy and unity. Sandra is survived by her devoted son, Richard, and her loving daughter-in-law, Lucinda. She was a pillar of strength for her family, offering guidance and unconditional love through life’s triumphs and tribulations. Sandra’s nurturing spirit extended to her role as a grandmother, where she found immense joy and fulfillment.
Natasha, Demi, and Terri were not just grandchildren to Sandra; they were the lights of her life. Their laughter echoed through the halls of 4 Meadowvale, creating an atmosphere of joy and happiness. As a great-grandmother, Sandra’s heart swelled with pride and love for Shyia, Ollie, Kyron, Archie, Phoenix, Xyla, Zaiyn-Lee, Theo, Bradai, and Blaiden. Each one brought a unique sparkle to her eyes, and she reveled in the delight of their company.
A service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held at Murdock’s Funeral Home, 2a Windsor Avenue, Coleraine on Sunday at 11.00 am. The interment will follow in Ballywillan Cemetery. In adherence to the family’s wishes, the house will remain private during this time of mourning. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, a cause close to Sandra’s heart. Contributions can be sent to Mrs. Mona Murdock, 31 Bushmills Road, Coleraine. Your support will honor Sandra’s memory and bring comfort to those in need.
