It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kenneth D. Postma at the age of 79. On Thursday, December 21, 2023, Kenneth went to be with his Lord and Savior, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love.
A dedicated member of Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church, Kenneth’s commitment to his community extended beyond the spiritual realm.
Having retired from Michigan Bell Telephone, he continued to share his skills and warmth with Shoemaker Heating and Cooling during his post-retirement years. Kenneth also proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and devotion. Their union blessed them with children who carry on his spirit: Paul Postma, Susan Studtman, Matthew Postma, and Kurt and Michelle Postma.
His legacy extends to his cherished grandchildren, Bryce Postma, Anna Postma, Syndey Studtman, Tate Studtman, Collin Postma, and Megan and Bryce Allan Hoeker, as well as a great-grandson. Kenneth’s family was a source of joy and pride, and his love for them was evident in every aspect of his life. In addition to his immediate family, Kenneth is remembered fondly by his sister, Kathe Freeman, and several in-laws, including Marie Postma, Jucille Van Langen, Al Van Haitsma, and Ed Zuidema.
The love and support of numerous nieces and nephews further enriched his life. Funeral services to celebrate Kenneth’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, located at 315 E. 16th St., Holland.
The service will be preceded by a visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Gateway Mission.
As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember Kenneth D. Postma for his unwavering faith, dedicated service, and the love that he shared generously with his family and community.
