We are saddened to inform you of the departure of a much-loved member of our community, former First Lady Ms. Sarah Perkins Irons, who departed this world on December 21, 2023. It is with heavy hearts and profound grief that we make this announcement. Ms. Irons leaves behind a legacy that is characterized by compassion, kindness, and a commitment to serving the members of the Florence community.
During the time that her husband, the former Mayor Bobby Irons, was in office, Ms. Irons served as the First Lady of the city with unflinching dedication and a real commitment to the well-being of the city and its citizens. She was a pillar of strength and support for the community. Because of her warmth, friendliness, and persistent efforts, she won the hearts of many people, and she left an everlasting impact on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Former Mayor Bobby Irons and his entire family are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of terrible loss.
