It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Jeff Hudgens on December 20th. Some may already be aware of his passing, while others may be learning about it for the first time. We wish to extend this memo as an all-in-one source of information regarding Jeff’s memorial and celebration of life.
Services to honor Jeff will take place next Thursday, December 28th, under the compassionate direction of Green Country Funeral Home of Tahlequah. The memorial service will commence at 10:30 in the Tahlequah High School Performing Arts Center. Jeff will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, at 12:30.
Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to join the family for fellowship at the United Keetoowah Band’s Venue and Event Center (formerly Whiskey Jim’s) to share cherished memories of Jeff at approximately 1:30.
For those who wish to contribute, instead of bringing food to the family, consider bringing something to the fellowship event for everyone to enjoy. Details on who to contact for food contributions will be provided in the coming days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that Jeff’s memory be honored with a donation to the Semper Fi and America’s Fund (thefund.org). This organization provided invaluable support during Jeff’s challenging recovery from injuries sustained in Iraq nineteen years ago.
The outpouring of love and offers of assistance have been deeply heartwarming and humbling. The Hudgens family expresses profound gratitude for the love and support extended by friends and well-wishers during this difficult time.
