James Wells Obituary, Tallahassee, FL Longtime Resident Has Died

James Tully Wells, III, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, left this world in a calm and tranquil manner on December 19, 2023, in Tallahassee, Florida, at the age of seventy. Son of James Tully Wells, Jr. and Iris Sheffield Wells, Tully was born on October 28, 1953, in Madison, Florida.

His mother’s maiden name was Sheffield. His life was characterized by simplicity and sincerity, and Tully was a fervent Christian who adhered to the Baptist faith.

His unflinching affection for his family and friends was the defining characteristic of a guy of outstanding character. For Tully, his family was always his top priority, and his most treasured friendships came in a close second. He loved with all of his heart, and he was always concerned about the health and happiness of those who were in his immediate vicinity.

The Burns Funeral Home will be the location of a celebration of life that will take place on Thursday, December 28, beginning at 6:00 pm.

This event will be held in respect of Tully’s desire for simplicity. During the gathering, friends and family will have the opportunity to pay respect to a life that was lived to the fullest, interact with one another, and share memories of the deceased.

Before Tully, his wife JoAnn Hiller Wells, his parents James Tully and Iris Wells Jr., and his brother Terry Wells all passed away. He was the last surviving member of his family.

His two sons, J.T. (Kim) Wells and Josh (Tori) Wells, along with their children Jaxon and Teagon, in addition to their children Dakota and Tristan, are the ones who will carry on his legacy. Kitty Wells, his sister, and Riley and Ember, his great dogs, are also among those who will miss him after his passing. Instead of flowers, the family respectfully begs that memorial contributions be made to Big Bend Hospice in Tully’s honor by way of a donation.

Burns Funeral Home in Perr is in charge of all the arrangements, and they are responsible for their sensitive care. Let us remember Tully in our own unique ways as we say our goodbyes to him. Let us do this in order to preserve the essence of a guy who left an indelible mark on our lives by his love and his natural simplicity.
