It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emily Lunceford Price, a cherished soul who departed from this world on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Cannon Memorial Hospital in North Carolina. Born on August 24, 1964, to the late Ed Lunceford and Dora Lee Sluder, Emily’s life was one marked by love, family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
Emily was a proud graduate of Johnson County High School, class of 1982, and Northeast State Community College. As a homemaker, she found fulfillment in the warmth of her home and the love she shared with those closest to her.
Emily had a penchant for simple pleasures, whether it was playing games on her phone, working on puzzles, watching college football, or engaging in the art of crocheting.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Wesley Price of Harmony, North Carolina; sister, Kathy Tugman of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee; two brothers, Doug Lunceford of Mountain City, Tennessee, and Joe Lunceford of Boone, North Carolina.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with numerous great nieces and nephews. A special friend, Lisa Cress, holds a place in her heart as well.
A funeral service to celebrate Emily’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 2 pm in the Charles B Hux Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home, with Ted Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital at 950 W Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
