Elvira Lopez Obituary, St. Mary Catholic Church Beloved Member Has Died

We regret to inform you of the demise of Elvira Lopez, a cherished community member. Elvira, who was 86 years old, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, with her loved ones by her side. During this trying time, the Flash Today wishes its warmest sympathies to her loved ones. On Friday, December 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., friends and family will be able to visit Harrell Funeral Home in Dublin to pay their condolences and give support.

Saturday, December 23, at 1 p.m., funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Victor Castillo at Dublin’s Harrell Memorial Chapel. The burial will take place in New Dublin Liveoak Cemetery after the service.

The beloved Elvira Lopez was born in Elgin on January 12, 1937. She was a kind woman who was devoted to her family and friends no matter what. They were married on August 25, 1975, by her best friend Mike Lopez, and they had a happy, loving life together.

They had a lovely daughter, Sandra Kay Lopez, and were married for 41 happy years until Mike passed away. Elvira was a well-respected seamstress at the neighborhood Sewing Factory, where her years of experience and meticulous craftsmanship earned her a solid reputation in the field.

She kept on showing off her incredible knack for sewing at home even after she retired, right up until two weeks ago. Elvira left a legacy of skilled workmanship through her legendary capacity to fix and mend any article of clothing.

Having a daughter and granddaughters was Elvira’s greatest joy in life, even more so than her professional success. She was the rock upon which her family could always rely, showering them with unconditional love and support while also creating countless treasured memories.

We will miss her profound influence on people’s lives. Throughout her seventy-two years in Dublin, Elvira was an active and dedicated member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and her impact on the city’s fabric was immense.

Instead of flowers, the family would really appreciate it if you could pay your respects to Sister Elvira’s faith and compassion by donating to Calvary Fellowship Church in Dublin, In Memory of Sister Elvira.

Let us hold Elvira Lopez in our hearts as we say goodbye; she was an inspiration in her courage, love, and perseverance. We pray that her spirit rests in peace and that her life and legacy serve as an inspiration to others.
