Bloomville, a close-knit community in Ohio, mourns the loss of one of its beloved residents, Connie L. Blaser, who peacefully passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at The Willows of Tiffin. At the age of 81, Connie left behind a legacy of love, family, and community involvement that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Connie was born on December 15, 1942, in Bloomville, to the late Donald and Frieda (Bayer) Hossler. Growing up in this tight community, Connie developed a strong sense of belonging and community values. She graduated from Bloomville High School in 1960, marking the beginning of a journey that would be filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to her family and community.
On September 29, 1963, Connie married the love of her life, Jon A. Blaser, at the Bloomville United Church of Christ. Their union was a source of strength and support for each other, creating a foundation for a life filled with joy and shared memories. Sadly, Jon preceded her in death on June 10, 2022, leaving behind a void that Connie navigated with grace and resilience.
Connieâs devotion to family extended beyond her marriage, as she was a loving mother to two daughters, Holly (Dyson) Massengill of Readyville, TN, and Heidi (Rusty) Epperson of Salem, Virginia. Her nurturing spirit embraced not only her daughters but also her five grandchildren: Haylee Massengill, Jill Massengill, Kaelyn (Nick) Martin, Zac Epperson, and Abi Epperson. A great-granddaughter, Ella Rae Ramirez, brought an extra sparkle to Connieâs eyes.
In her professional life, Connie dedicated herself to the community as she worked at Allen Eiry in Tiffin, contributing to the well-being of others. Her commitment to service extended to her membership in the Bloomville United Church of Christ, where she found solace and shared her faith with fellow community members. Connieâs siblings, brother Dale Hossler of Findlay, and sisters Carol Adams of Bloomville and Donna Hawblitz of Heath, OH, shared in the joys and sorrows of life with her. Together, they formed a support system that exemplified the strength of family bonds. While Connieâs life was marked by love and joy, it also saw moments of sorrow. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jon, and a daughter, Hope. These losses only deepened Connieâs appreciation for the precious moments spent with her loved ones.
A Celebration of Connieâs life will be held at a later date, offering friends and family the opportunity to come together, share memories, and honor her legacy. Likewise, the burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville, a peaceful resting place for a woman who brought so much life to those around her.
The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with the arrangements, providing support and care during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Bloomville Development Group.
This gesture reflects Connieâs commitment to the growth and well-being of her community, ensuring that her impact endures beyond her physical presence. As Bloomville mourns the loss of Connie L. Blaser, the community also celebrates the indomitable spirit of a woman who touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and community service that will be remembered for generations to come.
