Kathy Andersen Missing, Aberdeen, South Dakota, Help Police Locate Woman Reported Missing Since Dec. 15

Authorities in Aberdeen, South Dakota, are urgently seeking information on the whereabouts of Kathleen “Kathy” Andersen, a woman listed as missing on the state’s Missing Persons Clearinghouse since December 15.

While individuals on the list may not have necessarily been abducted, authorities are concerned about Andersen’s well-being and want to ensure her safety. Brown County Sheriff Dave Lunzman emphasized that the situation with Andersen seems to be a case where she may have left home voluntarily.

The primary goal is to speak with her to confirm her safety, and if she wishes to continue her journey, she will be allowed to do so. The listing as missing is a precautionary measure to check on her welfare.

The latest sighting of Andersen was captured on video on December 16 near Platte City, Missouri, according to Sheriff Lunzman. However, law enforcement has not had the opportunity to personally speak with her since she left, making it crucial to locate her and assess her well-being.

Sheriff Lunzman revealed that out-of-state agencies are assisting in the search for Andersen. Concerned citizens with any information about her whereabouts are urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 605-626-7100. A family member took to Facebook to seek assistance in finding Andersen, noting that she left Aberdeen around 8:30 a.m. on December 15. Described as 5-foot-5 and 110 pounds with dark hair, she was last seen wearing blue jeans, a camouflage jacket, and a black stocking cap.

The family member believes Andersen may be attempting to make her way to Florida, adding urgency to the search efforts. As the community rallies to locate Kathy Andersen, authorities are emphasizing the importance of any information that could help bring her back safely.
