With her family by her side, 81-year-old Nancy A. Williams passed away peacefully in the Hart Comfort House on Saturday morning, December 16, 2023. She courageously battled her illness and gained fame for her kindness and empathy. On July 7, 1942, Nancy Anderson was born to parents John and Margaret (Johnson) Anderson in Wellsville, New York. John Anderson passed away on July 6, 1942. Her town was transformed by her kindness and generosity.
Following her graduation in 1960 from Wellsville High School, Nancy was highly regarded by both her peers and faculty. Robert Williams, Nancy’s soulmate, was wed to her on June 25, 1961. They weathered life’s storms side by side, as their 60-year marriage attests.
There was an abundance of delight, contentment, and affection that comes from sharing a home with someone you know and trust. Being a wife, mother, and grandma was a lifelong goal of Nancy’s, and she found great fulfillment in this role.
A selfless person, she provided a welcoming house, an abundance of food, and unending support to those she cared about. At family reunions, she and her offspring and grandkids would make cherished memories that would last a lifetime. Nancy was a pillar of strength and a doting mother in Wellsville. She was generous with her skills and eager to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her compassion, decency, and giving impacted countless people.
The family and friends of the deceased are cordially invited to attend a viewing on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 1-3 pm at J. W. Ember Sons Funeral Home, 34 W. State Street, Wellsville, 2023. Members of Nancy’s family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at three o’clock in the afternoon to celebrate her life, pay tribute to her, and offer each other solace.
A memorial contribution to the Hart Comfort House, located at 141 E. State Street, Wellsville, NY 14895, would be appreciated more than flowers, according to the family. Nancy’s commitment to helping others is demonstrated by her posthumous giving.
