Patricia Sofranko Obituary, Patricia Sofranko Has Died

Patricia (Pat) Corder Sofranko, a beloved resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Braddock Heights in Frederick, Maryland. Born on July 24, 1935, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Pat grew up in Smithfield, PA, as the daughter of the late Roy and Florence Schnatterly Corder.

She attended and graduated from Georges Township High School, class of 1953.

After completing high school, Pat made her way to the Washington, DC metropolitan area, where she spent the rest of her life. Pat held various jobs in the nation’s capital, including operating one of the “first IBM machines” as a contractor for the federal government.

During her time in Lovettsville, Virginia, where she raised her son and managed her household, Pat worked for Loudoun Country Day School in Leesburg, VA, and First Virginia Bank in Tysons Corner VA’s corporate office.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Pat had a passion for sewing, reading, painting, playing card games, cooking, and baking. She particularly enjoyed decorating Christmas and Valentine’s Day cookies with her granddaughter, Hailey.

Pat’s legacy is one of hard work, dedication, and a love for life’s simple pleasures. She will be fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched during her journey.
