It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Clancy on the 13th of December 2023 at The Manor Nursing Home, Rathfriland. Peter, beloved husband of the late Maureen, was a loving father to Kevin, Kate (Murdock), Peter, Liam, Michael, and Mary (Burns). He was a cherished father-in-law, a devoted grandfather, and a much-loved brother to Brendan and the late Margaret, Charlie, Joe, Mary, and Mick.
Peter’s residence at 62 Chestnut Grove, Newry, became a sanctuary of love and warmth for his family. May his soul rest in peace as we remember a life well-lived and a heart deeply connected to his loved ones.
To pay respects and share fond memories, Peter’s remains will repose at his daughter Kate Murdock’s home at 95 Burren Road, Burren, on Thursday from 12 noon until removal on Friday at 2 pm.
The journey will lead to St. Mary’s Church, Burren, where a Requiem Mass will take place at 2:30 pm (available on churchmedia.tv). The family will follow this with a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Marie Curie, a cause close to Peter’s heart.
Contributions can be sent c/o the Family, McAnulty Funeral Directors at 35 Church Street, Warrenpoint, BT34 3HN, or directly to mariecurie.org.uk. Peter’s passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by his loving family, extended family circle, and friends. As we gather to remember him, let us find solace in the shared memories and celebrate a life that touched the hearts of many.
