In loving memory of June Pettifer (Higgins), nee Hands, who peacefully departed from this world at the age of 80 on December 8, 2023. June faced a courageous and lengthy battle with dementia, demonstrating immense strength throughout her journey.
June was the cherished wife of Michael and a beloved mother to Tracey, Michael, and Rachel. Her role as a mother extended to being a caring mother-in-law to Justine and Steve. June’s warmth and affection reached the hearts of her grandchildren Niall, Dale, Lakeeta, Claudia, Tonisha, Jed, Gabrielle, and Darcy. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Elianah and Noah.
A sister to Irene, Christine, and Margaret, June held a special place in the hearts of her extended family, including nieces and nephews Gary, Michelle, Graham, Martin, Suzanne, and their respective families.
June’s laughter, love, and kindness were infectious, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. As family and friends gather to bid her farewell, they will carry with them the enduring memories of a woman whose spirit radiated warmth and compassion.
The funeral service to celebrate June’s life will be held at Banbury Crematorium on Friday, January 5th, at 12:00 noon. The family expresses gratitude to the palliative care team at Sobell House for their compassionate care during June’s final weeks.
