The news of JoJo’s (Jolie-Lynn) Trenholm’s) passing away on December 7, 2023, at her residence in Terence Bay is shared by her family with heavy hearts. Her soulmate, Craig Slaunwhite, who died in 2022, has now found peace alongside her. Her compassion, energy, and convictions were contagious, and she never hesitated to lend a hand to those in need. Because Jo exhibited all of these traits, getting to know her was like falling in love with her. Daughter JoJo Trenholm (Wile) was born to the late Daniel Trenholm and Melbra Trenholm.
She grew up in the New Brunswick village of Port Elgin with her siblings Wade and Angela. She originally hails from Moncton, but now calls Toronto, Ontario, her home. Everyone in the city has no idea what’s going on! Jo was a real character; she had an outsized personality and was constantly seeking out new challenges, which she effortlessly conquered. After moving to Halifax in the early 2000s, JoJo found her true calling as a licenced practical nurse (LPN). She has vast experience in the field of mental health and has specialised in it.
She ended up in the North, where she developed strong feelings for the locals, their traditions, and, of course, their canines. There she was, at last, at the end of this journey. The love that JoJo offered was unconditional, and she was always there to lend a hand. Contrary to popular belief, she revelled in her role as champion of the downtrodden. A large portion of JoJo’s energy during her rehabilitation was spent on assisting others.
Her involvement in the community was evident. The fellowship members from every corner of the globe held her in the highest regard and loved her dearly. It was Craig, the man she had met and fallen for, who was there. Their kind of love is so rare; very few people ever get to know it. Even though it took almost two years, Craig finally passed away in 2022, and he took Jo with him. Jo devoted many years of her life as a volunteer at Hope at Wildlife, where she answered questions, gave tours, and showed special care to each animal. Her boundless energy and contagious smile will be deeply missed by everyone she touched.
