Geraldine Chandler Obituary, Forever In Our Heart Geraldine Chandler

In the quiet town of Walpole, New Hampshire, a vibrant soul, Geraldine Chandler, bid farewell to the world on December 6, 2023, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a legacy of love that will endure through the ages. Born on June 20, 1940, in Rockingham, VT, to the late Gerald Hill and Stella (Tenney) Hill, Gerry lived a life filled with zest, laughter, and an enduring passion for the wonders of life.

Gerry’s love for life manifested in her various interests and pursuits. She found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was hiking amidst nature’s beauty, exploring new destinations, or relishing the tranquility of the beach. Her leisure hours were marked by the satisfaction of completing puzzles, engaging in card games, and nurturing her flower gardens. Gerry embraced adventure, enjoying the serenity of kayaking, the cultural richness of plays and museums, and, above all, the company of those she held dear. Her infectious laughter and perpetual smile became the hallmark of her vibrant spirit.

Surviving Gerry is a constellation of love, starting with her daughter, Tammy Blake, and her granddaughter, Cori Hildreth, along with great-grandchildren Anna and Liam Hildreth. Grandson Joshua Watson and great-grandson Beau Watson also carry the torch of her memory, joined by grandchildren Danielle Southwell, Jaime Pearsall, Deanna Savola, and great-grandchildren Andrea, Jenna, Dani Pearsall, and Emma, Courtney, and Alex Savola.

Gerry’s surviving siblings, Shirley Aiken, Raymond Hill, sister-in-laws Carol Hill and Joan Hill, and her sweetheart, Paul Happ, share in the collective grief while cherishing the bond they had with a woman who brought joy to every room. A special mention goes to her niece, Denise Hartwell, and lifelong best friend, Albert Kittredge, who held a unique place in Gerry’s heart.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Stella Hill, brothers Donald and Arthur Hill, her husband James Chandler, and children Donna Latham and Marshall Latham. A service to celebrate Gerry’s life will be held on Thursday, December 21, at 11:00 AM at The First Baptist Church, 105 Maple Ave, Keene, NH.

In a poignant gesture, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Walpole, NH Fire and Ambulance Service, a tribute to Gerry’s appreciation for the community that was an integral part of her journey. As the community mourns her passing, they find solace in the indelible mark she left and the love that continues to resonate in their hearts.
