Robert Taulbee, 83 years old and originally from Vancleve, Georgia, died on Wednesday, December 6, at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Georgia. He was the son of Press and Laura Haynes Taulbee, both of whom had died, as well as the widow of Mary Lou Brown Taulbee, who had also died. His siblings Virgil Taulbee, Berlin Taulbee, and James Taulbee, as well as his sister Bea Lovely, had already left. In addition, his grandson, Robert Ray Taulbee, was among those who died before him.
Robert eventually chose to resign from his position as an equipment operator for the state highway department, where he had worked for a long period. He went to the Hampton United Methodist Church in Vancleve and considered himself a member of the church. His children, Tommy Taulbee (Joyce) and Linda Taulbee, as well as his sisters Judy Johnson, Jessie Taulbee, and Barbara Bartley, as well as his grandson Tommy Curtis Taulbee and great-grandson Waylon Jagger, are among those who will carry on his legacy after his death.
The names in dispute are Rocco Kingston and Thomas Taulbee. Lee Taulbee, the host, was accompanied by five brothers-in-law, a large number of nephews and nieces, and some other relatives. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 8 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral house will be open.
Funeral services will be held at the Hampton United Methodist Church in Vancleve on Saturday, December 9, at one o’clock in the afternoon. A ceremony will be held, presided over by John Bunn and Tommy Taulbee. It was determined that the burial will take place at Vancleve’s Taulbee Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the funeral ceremony will include Tommy Curtis Taulbee, Charles Parks, Evan Parks, Brian Combs, Chris Hollon, Larry Centers, Tim Keeton, Joe Mike Allen, Robert Lloyd Gross, Andy Mitchell, and David Young. Hubert Hollon, Daniel Haddix, AB Combs, Waylon Taulbee, Rocco Taulbee, Brysten Deaton, and Tyler Deaton will also serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Elkhorn City Methodist Church’s Wall Project, which may be delivered to P.O. Box 661, Elkhorn City, Kentucky 41522.
