Alene Estes Ferrell, who was 88 years old when she passed away, made a peaceful transition out of this life on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in her treasured home. The community of Short Mountain is in mourning over her departure. She is a real daughter of Cannon County, having been born to William and Limmer Lee Ferrell Estes. She embodies the values and spirit of her close-knit community, which she was born into.
There will be a touching funeral ceremony held in honor of Alene on Friday, December 8, 2023, at one o’clock in the afternoon. The service will take place in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home, and Bro. Charlie Stanton will preside over the arrangement. A proper last resting place is waiting for her in the Gunter-Grizzle cemetery, where she will join the ranks of others who have passed on before her. Visitors are invited to pay their respects during viewing hours that will take place on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Friends and family will be gathering to offer their respects. Additionally, on Friday, up to the beginning of the burial ceremony, there will be a chance for participants to share memories with one another and offer each other comfort.
The people whose lives Alene Estes Ferrell impacted and the memories she leaves behind will ensure that her legacy exists for generations to come. I pray that her soul finds everlasting peace, and that her family is able to find comfort in the love and support of their community at this trying time.
