Elizabeth P. (Peck) Lamoureux, a resident of Mattapoisett, left this world on August 18, 2019, at the age of 76, after a brief illness. She took her last breath at St. Luke’s Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Elizabeth, or Betty as she was fondly called, was the devoted wife of Michael P. Lamoureux during his lifetime, sharing a bond that stood the test of time.
Although she was born in Roxbury, Betty spent her formative years in Kingston and eventually settled in Mattapoisett, where she spent the majority of her life.
Her parents, George A. Peck and Alice (Tilley) Peck, had already departed before the arrival of their beloved daughter, leaving her with a rich heritage and cherished memories. Betty’s culinary skills were legendary, as she delighted in preparing mouthwatering dishes for family and friends on various occasions.
Gardening was another passion that brought her immense joy, and she spent countless hours cultivating vibrant blooms and tending to her garden sanctuary.
One of the highlights of Betty’s life was the companionship she shared with her beloved dog, Buck. Their time together was a source of immeasurable joy, and Betty’s love for Buck radiated to everyone in her immediate circle.
In the hearts of those who knew her, Elizabeth P. Lamoureux will be remembered not only for her culinary talents, green thumb, and love for her canine companion but also for the warmth and happiness she brought to the lives of those fortunate enough to be in her presence.
As we reflect on her life, we celebrate the legacy of a woman whose kindness and zest for life left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
