Billy Halcomb, my father, has been absent since November 6. That is one day in advance of being a complete month. For thirty days, my dad and my sisters have not communicated with each other. During that time, I have been wondering whether my dad has been out in the cold, if he has a warm place to stay, if he has food to eat, if he is okay, and so on.
My dad would be quite concerned about me and my grandson, and I know that he would not miss our birthdays or wish us a happy Thanksgiving.
His grandchild is due to be born today. I kindly ask that you spread the word about this, tell a friend about it, pray for him, and do all else you can to help us locate him. He was supposed to be traveling to the Walker House, but he isn’t there. His last known location was the Structure House (sober living).
We’ve phoned every jail, hospital, and rehab facility. His phone call logs and other related documents have been retrieved. Laurel County Post 11 has received a missing person’s report. They are working really hard on the probe, but I haven’t heard anything yet.
His only family consists of his brother, me, and my two sisters. We are very concerned about our dad because of his mental health issues, and I worry that if he meets someone new and they don’t understand that he isn’t being right in his head, they might try to hurt him because of how crazy the world is these days.
I am aware that my dad would occasionally post absurd things on social media, making most of you chuckle and expressing your thoughts that he was methed out and such, but my dad is actually quite ill, both mentally and physically, and it has nothing to do with drugs. He suffers from severe bipolar illness and schizophrenia in addition to several other health issues.
