At Iredell Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, Sherri Denise Stout Owens, who was sixty years old and from Statesville, passed away sudden and suddenly. On September 20, 1962, she was born in Iredell County to the late Garland E. Stout and Hattie Mae Benfield Stout. Her parents have now passed away.
Her husband, Wayne Leroy Owens II, died before her, as did her brother, George Stout, and her sister, Mary Ann Hartness. She was also preceded in death by her husband.
Over the course of her career, she worked in a variety of vocations, one of which was mending hot air balloons. She had a passion for gardening, tending to her flowers, sewing, and coloring.
Some of the people who are left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jonas Nathaniel Campbell (Angelina), Jesse Wayne Owens (Lindsay), Gary Wayne Owens, and Wayne Wayne, also known as Wayne Leroy Owens III; her five grandchildren, Gentry Gibson, Jackson Owens, Ethan Day, Carson Paul, and Stella Moribito; her siblings, Benny Stout, Donna Poplin (T.C.), Garnet McNeely (Monty), and Beulah Brewer; and other members of the family.
