Holzer Assisted Living in Gallipolis, Ohio, was the location where Sarah Jane Hohman, who was 92 years old and originally from Rio Grande, Ohio, died away on Saturday, December 2, 2023. The daughter of Lowell Tucker and Dorothy (Bookman) Tucker, who both passed away before her birth, she was born on September 29, 1931 in The Diamond, Ohio.
Over the course of more than half a century, Sarah served as a Registered Nurse at Holzer Medical Center.
She also worked as a Nurse Midwife for a considerable amount of time. She participated in a number of mission trips in order to assist individuals who were less fortunate.
A member of the Ohio Eastern Star Chapter #283 in Gallipolis and the Simpson Chapel Methodist Church in Rio Grande, Sarah was a member of both organizations. Her children, Judy (Bob) Loucks of Colton, Oregon, and James (Becky) Blazer of Patriot, Ohio, as well as her daughter-in-law, Sarah Blazer Nunn of Gallipolis, Ohio, as well as her grandchildren, Katherine (Travis) Hurst, David (Sarah) Loucks, Joseph Blazer III, Adam (Brittany) Blazer, Cooper Blazer, Josie Blazer, and five great-grandchildren, are the only ones who will cherish her memory.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husbands Joe Blazer and Fritz Hohman, her son Joey Blazer, and two sisters, Donna Sullivan and Joyce Boudinot.
Her parents were also among those who passed away before her. On Friday, December 8, 2023, at eleven o’clock in the morning, funeral services will be held at Simpson Chapel Methodist Church in Rio Grande, Ohio, with Pastor Dan Lamphier serving as the officiant.
Calvary Cemetery in Rio Grande will be the location of the burial then. Friends are welcome to pay their respects in the Wetherholt Chapel of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home in Gallipolis on Thursday, December 7 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
