The passing of Rand Leslie Marshall, who was 62 years old and the spouse of Kimberly (Evans) Marshall, occurred on Saturday, December 2, 2023. He was the son of Virgil Chapman Marshall and the late Mildred “Millie” LeVerne (Williamson) Marshall, and he was born on August 29, 1961 in Georgetown, Kentucky.
In addition to being on the board of directors for Providence Christian School and The Amen House in Georgetown, Rand was a member of the Tates Creek Presbyterian Church in Lexington which is located in Lexington.
Both Georgetown College and the University of Kentucky College of Law awarded him degrees; he graduated from both. In 2022, Rand will retire from his position as Scott County Attorney, having spent his whole career working for the Scott County Attorney’s Office.
Additionally, he was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and horse racing, and he enjoyed playing softball and working out at the gym. The band Night Ranger was Rand’s favorite, and he enjoyed listening to them. The people that meant the most to Rand were his family and his friends.
In addition to his beloved wife Kim, affectionately known as “Kimber” and his father Virgil, Rand is survived by his children, Evan (Tania) Sharp, Erin Sharp (Matthew) Alred and Rees Marshall; his four grandchildren, Christopher Sharp, Anderson Sharp, Andrew Alred and Emmett Alred; two brothers, Keith Marshall and Lane (Mary) Marshall; His in-laws.
Katherine and Mike Paynter, Kevan and Sue Evans, Keith and Claudia Evans; his nieces and nephews, Camille Marshall, Patrick Marshall, Josh and Jennifer Evans, Jenny Evans, Heather and Richard Holmes, Rachel and Matt Wilhoite, Noelle Evans.
In addition to his mother, Rand’s sister, Dawn Marshall, as well as his maternal grandparents, J.C. “Buck” and Evelyn (Mullannix) Williamson, and his paternal grandparents, Humphrey and Sarah Marshall, each passed away before him.
