It is with heavy hearts and a deep sense of loss that we share the passing of a beloved mother, wife, sister, and grandmother. Last night, on the 1st of December 2023, our dear Mum departed this world peacefully at Te Mana Rest Home, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever resonate in our hearts.
Mum was the beloved wife of Jim, a devoted mother to Brendon Gardner, Dionne Moors, Mandy Jane Gardner, and Brooke Adams. She was a proud Nana and a loving sister to Dianne Deans. Her presence in our lives was a source of warmth, comfort, and unwavering support.
The family in New Zealand will be gathering for a celebration of Mum’s life at Brooke and Les’s home on Monday at 2 pm, a heartfelt occasion to honor the remarkable woman she was. Following this, Mum will be brought home to Norfolk Island later in the week, reuniting with Dad in a place of eternal serenity.
As we come together to remember and celebrate Mum’s life, let us reflect on the hymn and reading that resonated on the Norfolk Island radio this morning—a poignant reminder of the enduring spirit and love that Mum brought into our lives.
In the coming days, a funeral notice will be shared, providing details for those who wish to pay their respects and join in honoring Mum’s memory. For those in Auckland who wish to be part of the Monday gathering, please reach out to Brooke for more information.
In this time of sorrow, may the love and support of family and friends surround us, offering strength and solace. Mum may be physically absent, but her love, wisdom, and the countless memories we shared will continue to guide and comfort us. Forever in our hearts, Mum’s spirit lives on in the laughter, love, and enduring bonds she cultivated within our family.
