Jeannie Marie Hargett, who was born in Mississippi on October 19, 1926, to parents Earl and Lula Wroten, had a life that was characterized by tenacity, love, and her commitment to helping others. It was in 1941 when Marie and Linnie Hargett first came into contact with one another, and the two of them began their love affair against the backdrop of World War II.
It was in 1943 when they exchanged their vows, shortly prior to Linnie’s departure on his voyage throughout the war. Richard and Jeannie were the two members of the family that the couple brought into their life.
As the Hargetts traveled around the Tennessee Valley, they became a nomadic family, weaving together a rich tapestry of memories and connections along the way. In 1970, they discovered a location in Hamilton, Alabama, that they could call their own.
Throughout her whole life, Marie was involved in a variety of activities, including working as a secretary, lobbying for Maywood Christian Camp, and working at the hospital switchboard.
