Fresno Drive-By Shooting, Two Dead, Two Injured In Fresno Morning Shooting

In a shocking incident, two individuals lost their lives, and two others sustained gunshot wounds in a shooting that unfolded early Saturday morning in Fresno. The Fresno Police Department was alerted to the grim situation around 4:20 a.m. when they received a “shot spotter alert,” indicating gunfire detected by advanced gun detection technology in the vicinity of East Olive and North Cedar Avenues.

Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered four victims with gunshot wounds and promptly transported them to a local hospital.

Unfortunately, the medical efforts proved futile for two men aged 41 and 30 years, as they succumbed to their injuries and lost their lives. The remaining two victims, currently in critical but stable condition, highlight the severity of the incident.

According to preliminary reports from the Fresno Police Department, the victims were part of a “small gathering.” Tragically, the peaceful gathering took a devastating turn when an unidentified individual joined and unleashed a barrage of gunfire, leaving a community in shock and mourning.

The investigation is actively underway as law enforcement officials work diligently to uncover the motive and apprehend the perpetrator. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

Individuals can contact the Fresno Police Department at (559) 621-7000 or reach out to Valley Crime Stoppers anonymously at (559) 498-STOP. As the community grapples with the aftermath of this senseless violence, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address the underlying issues contributing to such tragic events.

The loss of two lives and the critical injuries sustained by others underscore the impact of gun violence on communities, prompting a collective call for solutions to prevent further bloodshed.
