Devin Dunkle Obituary, A Poet’s Resilience And Advocacy

Devin Lee Dunkle, 31, died at home in Altus, Oklahoma, on November 30, 2023. Devin, born in San Antonio, Texas, to Brian and Debbie Dunkle on April 16, 1992, was resilient, faith-filled, and an advocate. Devin graduated from Altus High School in 2010 and attended Western Oklahoma State College.

As a St. Jude patient, Devin overcame health issues and became a powerful champion for the organization’s life-saving work. Devin was baptized at West Fork, Arkansas, in the summer of 2001 after embracing Christ as his Lord and Savior.

He had a strong spiritual connection and was involved at Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he received encouragement. Devin was full of life despite his health issues. Gaming, travel, and cruises were his passions.

His charm helped him make new acquaintances on every cruise, leaving an unforgettable effect on all who met him. Devin’s poetic spirit found peace in writing about his feelings and experiences. He left a profound legacy of creativity and thoughtfulness by sharing his poetry in his final hours.

His loved ones will miss Devin, but his memory will live on. A private family memorial will celebrate his life, reflecting his close relationships.

Cremation arrangements are handled compassionately by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Let us celebrate Devin’s life by remembering his perseverance, kindness, and lyrical spirit, which will live on in those he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing his path touched many.
