The world dimmed on December 19, 2003, as Ricardo Valerio, a beloved son, brother, and uncle, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. At the age of 39, Ricardo’s departure left a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a testament to love, kindness, and the bonds of family.
Ricardo’s warm spirit touched the hearts of everyone he encountered, earning him the love and respect of those fortunate enough to share in his journey. He is preceded in death by his brother, Joe M. Zavala, and leaves behind a grieving family that includes his father, Ignacio Valerio; mother, Angelina Zavala; stepfather, Jesse Briseno; and brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Eduardo Valerio, Mr. and Mrs. Roberto Valerio, Mr. and Mrs. Gilberto Valerio.
His memory lives on through the nieces and nephews who adored him: Michael, Tony, Sarah, Monica, Cassandra, Danny, Maria, Cristian, Marcos, Genevieve, and Mikecla Valerio. Ricardo’s extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins mourns his passing, along with his grandparents, Cruz and Manuela Zavala.
To pay respects and share cherished memories, friends and family gathered for visitation at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2003, at Castillo Mission Funeral Home.
A Rosary was recited at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 21, 2003, also at the funeral home. The Funeral Service took place at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 22, 2003, at St. Gabriel’s, with Interment following at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery No. 2.
As the community mourns the loss of Ricardo, his memory will be held dear in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light he shared during his time on Earth.
