Greystones and Sandyford mourn the passing of Brian Thompson, a beloved resident of Rathdown Road, Greystones, and formerly Sandyford, Co. Dublin. Brian departed peacefully on November 30th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and under the exceptional care of Prof John Crown and the dedicated teams in both Cara and Hazel Wards at St Vincent’s Private Hospital.
Brian was the adored husband of Paula, a pillar of support and love to his amazing children Shane, Sam, Evan, and Sophie, along with their partners Anna, Mel, and Josh. He was the doting DanDan to Jordan, Theo, and Harry. Brian’s passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by his siblings, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, colleagues, a wide circle of friends, and his cherished four-legged companions, Lola and Luis.
Friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects during the repose at his home on Monday, December 4th, from 5 pm until 8 pm. The family kindly requests that the house remain private outside of these hours.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Brian’s life will take place on Tuesday, December 5th, at 10 am in The Holy Rosary Church, Greystones. For those unable to attend in person, the service can be viewed online at https://gkpastoralarea.ie/online/. Following the Mass, Brian will be laid to rest in Redford Cemetery, Greystones.
