We must break the devastating news that our beloved mother, Lula Mae Long, passed away this morning. She departed this life at the age of 83, leaving a legacy of love, humor, and life-changing events. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in the knowledge that she has passed on to her ideal heavenly existence.
Lula Mae had an amazing passion for life, and she spent endless excursions, giggles, and moments of foolishness with her grandkids. Every facet of her life demonstrated her undying love for our Heavenly Father.
We sincerely thank everyone who prayed earnestly for her and our family throughout this difficult period. Even though we are now navigating a whirlwind of emotions, we cling to the hope that our wounds will eventually heal. Lula Mae is no longer tormented by anguish or the material ills that formerly plagued her.
Her memory will live on forever, serving as a tribute to a life well-lived and deeply loved.
While we grieve, we take solace in seeing the happy reunion of Lula Mae and her lover, our father Thomas Joseph Long, who served as the model for our handcrafted barbecue. We can practically picture them having a block party on the streets of gold to celebrate their reunion, which is more than just a reunion this planet can provide.
We give you our undying love even in the midst of grief, Mom. We take comfort in the knowledge that you are reunited with Dad, and your spirit continues to live on.
